This Saturday Spool held a small demonstration by the author of Weekend Sewing, Heather Ross.
Let me tell you, not only is the woman mad talented but she's funny to boot! We had such a fun time and even got her to sign our books - yay! She really had us laughing the whole time and really made me want to try my hand at making the child's smocked dress from her book. I bought some of her fabric while I was there and will post my finished in the next few weeks.
Seriously, there are so many projects in this book to choose from that I may even take a stab at making something for myself! It's something I've shied away from since I either hate or love how clothes look on me. No happy medium here, so it's a big deal and something I'm going to give a try.
Of course I forgot to take pictures of Heather demo'ing the dress (doh!) but I'll post a link as soon as Spool's has theirs up. They didn't forget - God bless them :)
