Lately my job has been seriously kicking my butt. I mean full on butt kicking where you are mentally and physically pooped by noon time. By the time I head home at around 4pm, i'm drained and just feel like throwing myself in bed and sleeping 'til the next day ... BB is just getting her second wind though and usually ready for fun, fun, fun!
So in between the job kicking my butt, the park has been giving me a good whopping too! But at least that whoppin' is fun :)
This year is the first year that we've taken BB to the local park (don't ask). She has absolutely fallen in love with the place! On Friday I got out of work a little early so Hubby, BB and I decided to head to her fav hotspot and have some fun.
She marched her little feet over to the swings, looked up at us and said, 'wet's go swing! (she does that cute kid thing where they switch their 'L's for 'W's). So in to the swings she went!
Hubby pushed her a bit and then I took over. I forgot how much fun it was to swing in the breeze on a warm summer afternoon!
Of course I had to give the big kid swings a try too and jumped right on while Hubby finished swinging BB. She laughed the whole time while I swung higher and higher ... and then got a little motion sick and decided i'd just watch her instead :).
Then it was on to the slides! Hubby dutifully marched up the steps with her and slid down so she wouldn't get too scared. She loved it and was cracking up the whole way down! The only problem we have now is that she isn't too interested in sliding down on her own anymore and insists that either one of us slide down with her. Not bad for hubby but for me, well, let's just say i'm not the most graceful person in the world and fell on my butt more then once that day sliding down with her (don't worry, Hubby was prepared and scooped BB out of my hands before she could tumble with me).
Then the sky opened up and it was time to go!
We headed back to the park the next day in my sister's neighborhood and BB had fun again. She went on the Twirly Wirly with my sister and held on for her dear life. Trust me, she had fun. My sister almost threw up though!
Then BB, Sara and Hubby got on a double see saw and poor Sara almost flew into the sky more than once. We didn't think that one through apparently :)
It's been raining like nobody's business lately so I don't think we'll see the park again until next week when the sky clears up .. hopefully BB can wait until then ...
