When my sister married her lovely husband nearly 4 years ago, the pair began searching for their first house. After searching for what seemed like forever (or maybe that's what it felt like since I was first pregnant when they began their search and then had BB shortly after) they found their perfect home. It's just the right size for them and is full of character, charm and warmth just like it's owners.
Ever since I spied some of this talented ladies work and being totally inspired, I knew I wanted to make an embroidered house for my dear sweet sister. It took about a week of non stop sewing to make this lovely felt embroidered house for her. I'd steal a few minutes here and there and I am just thrilled with how the house came out.
I tried to include as much as I could and like how the stone front (I think this took the longest of each 'section'!) and trees came out.
And the marigolds! Don't they add just the prettiest touch? They are my sister's favorite and were a cinch to make via a french knot.
I'm happy to say that sister loves it and is proudly displaying it on her mantel for the time being. Don't you just love it when things work out like you envisioned? Now on to my next project! I think another embroidery project is fitting, don't you?
