Last Sunday hubby, BB and I headed to his parents house for an afternoon of lunch and friendly conversation. My father-in-law had to work that day and lunch wouldn't be ready until 3:00pm when he got home. Suffice to say, I was starving by 12:30pm and tried to patiently wait for lunch while nibbling on cheerios or anything else I stash in my purse in the event BB gets the munchies.
3:00pm finally arrived and we were served a fairly nice sized plate of pasta with fresh tomato sauce. It was delicious and I practically swallowed it in two minutes. No lie, I think I chewed twice.
The next course was our lighter course ... salad with shrimp. My friends, I love shrimp. Fried or cocktailed I can eat them like nobody's business. So imagine to my surprise when my lovely Mother-in-law presented the following plate to me.
Yes, the shrimp you see above is both ginormous (that's a full sized plate, dears).... and completely whole. Let me say that I am not a super squeamish person. Okay, I'll take that back. I can't stand the sight of blood and always feel lightheaded when seeing it. But to see my lunch staring up at me on my plate ... is it just me or do they look like little roaches?
So what did I do? I pushed the plate ever so gently in front of my husband (pushing his plate out of the way), looked up at him with tender eyes and said, "you clean them".
I wonder what's in store for our next meal ... please pray for me.
........
Side Note: I ate all of the shrimp once hubby finished cleaning them for me. And they were scrumptious.
