Last weekend flew by in a flurry of Christmas shopping, visiting family and friends and more activities then I can count. During one of these activities I had the pleasure of taking a leisurely stroll through an acquaintance's house. Deep in the corner of the basement something caught my eye and begged me to come just a little bit closer. I turned on the light and there she was, staring at me. We'd only met on paper before when she dazzled me and I had to stitch her up. And here she was now in all of her glory. Isn't she beautiful?
Okay, she may not necessarily be the spring chicken she was but I can see the potentional. All this lovely girl needs is a good cleaning, some oiling too perhaps and she's ready to purr over the many miles of fabric that I've accumulated in these short years. Am I talking about her like she's mine? Well I certainly hope one day she can be but for now I can just imagine that to be the case.
And take a look, she still has the spool of an old project .. a quilt perhaps? Or some vintage clothes made with love? I did take a liberty of turning her wheels and let me tell you she meowed in delight!
I've had a lot on my mind lately and there are some big choices that I need to make. And here is this lovely girl, sitting there whispering to me the many projects we could make together ... namely finishing this quilt? I'm taking this as a sign my friends. A definite and wonderful sign.
She IS a beauty!! She might belong in a museum but I think there's a few more years of sewing left in her. :) I hope and pray for all the best. BTW, we just saw "The Christmas Cottage" about Thomas Kinkade and at the beginning of the movie he says that a famous artist setting up a studio in a barn near his house was like God pointing him to paint. Maybe this is your sign!!

oooooh, I've always been intrigued by these classic beauties. If you get one, you need to let me know how it works out.

I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes I saw the sign ...
Lol, I hope it is, Sister! That's a beautiful story ... I hope it's in His will!

Isn't she a beauty? Alas, I think she's a tease and won't be mine ... the dream was wonderful though!
