It's a Very Good Thing

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attend a taping of the Martha Stewart Show.  This is the second time I've been an audience member of Martha's and I was so thrilled to get such an opportunity again.  My Mom, Sister-in-law and I headed out that morning ready to watch Martha's Mother Day show.  We arrived at noon and were shuffled in shortly after.  The actual taping of the show didn't occur until 2:30pm so we had plenty of time to get ourselves together and relax before seeing the amazing Martha.  We were told by some of the cast members that it was the last show scheduled to tape for the season so we kept our fingers crossed that it meant we would receive plenty of prizes.

Here are some pictures of the view where we were sitting.  It was really nice and such a treat again to see everything in person.  I felt like a kid in a candy store again ... how great would it be to have half of the goodies on display?

While we were waiting in our seats for the show to start, we chatted a little bit amongst ourselves when my Sister-in-law asked whether many re-shots were taken the last time we were here.  We assured her that no, that wasn't the case and that when we were there before things went as smooth as silk.  Boy were we wrong!  I lost count of how many times they asked Martha or her guests to re-shot something they did or said and it was a laughing joke with the three of us that we were jinxed since we had talked about the very same thing!

In the end the show was awesome and we walked away with a bunch of prizes, once of which was a Krups waffle maker that I'm so thrilled with and can't wait to use!  It was another great and amazing experience and I can't wait to do it again.

Where to begin

As is with all things these days, the post that I wrote for today was lost when my computer decided to take an unscheduled break, taking my catch-up post with it.  The nerve I tell you.  So rather then try to rattle off what I wrote before I'll make this a quick post to save my sanity.

Our move to our new home was a resounding success!  Backbreaking, nerve-wracking and tiring beyond belief?  Totally.  We are still surrounded by multiple boxes and bags but I'm hoping that really soon we will be able to havee everything sitting nicely in it's own place.  It's amazing though how much you can collect over the years ... I can see a few yard sales in our future that's for sure!

We also inherited some lovely trees ... two Dogwoods (one with white blooms and the other with pink) and one Apple Blossom tree.  Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of them while they were in bloom but I will make up for that next year when they grace us with their beauty again. 

We also have a yard full of poison sumac and oak ... oh joy!

I have sprayed those suckers with poison sumac and oak killer like a madwoman and did a decent job the other day, pulling out as much as I could.  The roots were so strong that it took such a long time and it looks like I barely made a dent.  If a Reality TV show producer that focuses on landscaping is reading this, send me an email ... I'm totally game for some major help!

Let's see, I also was able to attend another taping of the Martha Stewart show!  I'll blog more about that later when I download the pictures from my camera and clean them up a bit.  In the meantime as things slowly get back to our new normal I hope to start blogging more and hopefully crafting more.  Wish me luck.  And in the meantime, if you are in the area and know a thing or two about gardening stop on by, there's plenty that needs to be done!
