I'm a Great-Aunt. Can you believe it? I still feel so young, lol. My niece, who lives in Louisiana, recently had her first daughter in July. She's such a cute tiny thing and is turning out to be a fantastic mother. Since we live so far away I decided to put together a little care package full of lovely handmade goodies to celebrate the birth of the adorable Giovanna.
I decided to make a few things for her. The first thing I made was a reversible baby blanket. I used some leftover pink fabric with cupcakes on it and some creamy flannel. I changed up the stripping from the front to back to make it more interesting.
It came out so soft I almost didn't want to give it up! Oh, and sorry for the horrid lighting but I had to package and send this baby out the very next day and had finished up this project at around midnight or so. Back to the gift ... I stitched together a little puppy dog that I thought would go nicely with the blanket and be a cute lovey for the baby. I'm still working out the kinks on a new stuffie design but I love how this little fella came out!
And of course I also included a Custom Name Embroidery Hoop. I love making these in my shop and it was so rewarding to make one for family again. I love how it came out!
After it was all said and done I packaged these goodies and they are now on their way to their new owner. I can't wait for my niece to get it and hopefully send some pics my way of her sweet new bundle of joy. Now let me get back to the sewing machine. BB has decided she needs her own Puppy stuffie ...
