This year we are celebrating our first Valentine's Day as a cyber / homeschool family. Although BB doesn't attend a brick and mortar school, her fabulous teacher has offered to put together a Valentine's Day craft for any of the kiddies who wish to participate. The kids and their parents basically have to send in a Valentine card by the end of the week and make sure there isn't any candy, which is a-okay with us since she has an allergy to tree nuts. I was thinking about re-printing last year's Dino-mite Valentine's cards but I also wanted to challenge myself and create something new if I had time. And I'm so glad I did! I loved how the new Valentine's came out and I thought I'd share it again this year.
This years theme was a fishy one! I originally created just pink / purple fish to go along with a Valentine theme and of course after I printed and mailed them out, I had a change of heart and made them multi-color fish ... it's so much cuter now that way! I also made a plain background option if that suits your fancy.
After cutting them out, I used my Martha Stewart rounnd corner punch on each of the ends, and punched out a small heart at the bottom as well. Totally optional but I kind of like how they look that way. I even bought a few packs of pencils and erasers at the dollar store and taped one of each to the back of each card.
I also wanted to do something nice for BB's teacher and included a super quick "friendship" bracelet using some red and blue twine I had on hand (it's really just a braided bracelet but hey, it's the though that counts!). She's really super sweet and I hope she enjoys it.
I even printed out last year's Dino-mite cards for the boys in her class too.
Want to print your own Hooked On You Valentine's Cards? If you do, click HERE for the regular Hooked On You Valentine printable, or HERE for the plain background version.
OH! And remember the last year's Dino-mite Valentine's? Well, I updated those as well to include super cute multi-colored dinosaurs vs just the original pink ones! Here's a LINK to the updated files if you want to shake things up.
Happy Valentine's Day!!
(Just a reminder this file is for personal use only and not commercial. Thanks!)
