Between a recent book fair I attended and Amazon, I've been lucky enough to add a number of new books to our little household. So much for not spending and only renting from the library ? lol! Here's are our new additions:
I've been eyeballing this book since it was released and couldn't pass up
the great offer of paying $20 off the cover price ? yay for me! Now I
just have to start cooking more and hubby will believe that I actually use
the cookbooks I buy rather than collect them as he so lovingly says.
Ok, this book isn?t for me but I thought I'd write about it anyway since
it seems like a good kids book and got pretty good reviews on Amazon. This
book was purchased for my 9 year old niece who loves reading. She likes
mystery-type books (she's really into Goosebump's books) so I'm hoping
she'll devour this over the Easter holidays.
The illustrations in this book are gorgeous and were wonderfully done. I think this book will be placed in our 'to read when BB is older pile' since the pages are soft (not the board book kind you find with little kid books) but it's well worth the wait. I'm sure the day we can tackle that every growing pile we'll feel like we've opened a treasure chest. I can't wait.
Another soft paged book that is delightful, but that may be place in our 'later' pile. Too cute.
I'll hopefully cook up some recipes that are in Martha's book during the holiday weekend and will let you know what I think.
My friend from Texas is also visiting so we'll be eating crabs here on Saturday and will be stuffed to the brim by 1pm I'm sure. Then of course we'll hit one of the local bakeries next store and buy some goodies for later on that night ...
